Website and Beta Terms

1. About Dysc

Dysc is an independent iOS client that connects to a compatible Jellyfin server selected by the user. Dysc does not provide music, a streaming catalogue, a Jellyfin server, or a Dysc account. Dysc is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the Jellyfin project or Jellyfin, Inc.

2. Eligibility

You must be legally capable of agreeing to these Terms. If you are not old enough to enter an agreement where you live, a parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these Terms for you. You may not use Dysc where doing so would be unlawful.

3. What you need to use Dysc

You are responsible for providing and maintaining:

• a compatible Apple device and supported operating-system version;
• a compatible Jellyfin server and a valid account for that server;
• network access between your device and the server;
• appropriate server, backup, security, and remote-access configuration; and
• all rights and permissions required for the music, artwork, metadata, and other content you access.

We do not control third-party servers and cannot reset their passwords, restore their data, guarantee their availability, or provide administrator support for them.

4. Your credentials and server

Keep your credentials and access tokens confidential. Do not provide them in support messages or beta feedback. You are responsible for activity performed through the server account you use, except to the extent caused by our breach of a legal duty.

Use HTTPS for servers reachable over the internet. Choosing HTTP can expose credentials, session data, metadata, and media traffic to interception or modification. You accept the risks created by a server or network configuration you control or select.

5. Content and acceptable use

Dysc does not grant rights to any music, artwork, lyrics, photographs, or other content. You may use Dysc only with content that you are legally entitled to access, stream, download, modify, or display.

You must not use the website, beta programme, or app to:

• infringe copyright, privacy, publicity, trademark, or other rights;
• gain unauthorised access to a server, account, device, or network;
• distribute malware, interfere with service operation, or evade security controls;
• harass, deceive, impersonate, or harm another person;
• redistribute downloaded media where you do not have permission; or
• use the beta or feedback channels for unlawful, abusive, or automated bulk activity.

6. Downloads and changes made on a server

Offline downloads are local copies intended to support personal playback through Dysc. They do not change ownership of the content or grant redistribution rights.

Some Dysc actions modify data on your selected server, including favourites, playlists, playlist order, playlist covers, and playlist deletion. You are responsible for confirming that you intend those changes and for maintaining server backups.

7. Beta software

Beta builds are unfinished and may contain defects, incomplete features, compatibility problems, interruptions, or changes that affect local or server-side data. Features may be added, removed, reset, or materially changed without notice. Do not rely on a beta build as the only way to access important content, and maintain appropriate backups.

Beta access is discretionary, may be limited by device, region, capacity, or technical requirements, and may be suspended or ended at any time. An invitation is personal and may not be sold. Participation does not guarantee access to a future release or any particular feature.

8. Feedback

You are not required to provide feedback. If you do, you grant us a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, transferable, and sublicensable right to use, reproduce, modify, and incorporate that feedback into Dysc and related materials without compensation or attribution. This does not transfer ownership of your music, photos, or other content submitted only to illustrate a support problem.

Do not submit information you are not permitted to share. Unless we explicitly agree otherwise in writing, feedback is not treated as confidential.

9. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled by Dysc, the website, and the beta programme. The operator of your selected Jellyfin server and Apple apply their own terms and privacy practices to services they operate.

10. Intellectual property

Dysc, its original software, interface, text, and branding are protected by intellectual-property law. These Terms do not grant permission to copy or use the Dysc name, logo, website, or original assets except as necessary for ordinary personal use of the services.

Jellyfin and related marks belong to their respective owners. Third-party software and fonts are used under their respective licences, described on the Licences and Acknowledgements page.

11. Availability and changes

We may change, suspend, restrict, or discontinue the website, beta programme, support channels, app compatibility, or any feature. We do not promise that Dysc will work with every device, Jellyfin version, server plug-in, network, codec, or media file.

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be identified by revising the effective date and communicated where reasonably appropriate. Continued use after the new Terms take effect constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.

12. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the website, beta programme, and related materials are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, or error-free operation. We do not warrant any third-party server, service, content, or network.

Nothing in these Terms excludes guarantees, warranties, or other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including mandatory consumer rights that apply where you live.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive losses, or for loss of data, content, profits, revenue, goodwill, or availability arising from the website, beta programme, app, a Jellyfin server, or a network configuration.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence where such an exclusion is prohibited.

14. Ending access

You may stop using the services at any time. We may suspend access to the beta or support channels if you materially breach these Terms, create security or legal risk, abuse the service, or if the programme ends. Sections that by their nature should survive will continue, including provisions concerning feedback, intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, and disputes.

15. General terms

If part of these Terms is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a legitimate reorganisation or transfer of Dysc.

Mandatory consumer law and the courts available to consumers where they live are not displaced by these Terms. Otherwise, these Terms are governed by the law of the jurisdiction in which the operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
