Dysc Support

Last updated: 14 September 2026

For Dysc support, beta feedback, privacy enquiries, or security reports, email jellydisc@proton.me.

Never send your Jellyfin password, access token, private music files, or an unrestricted administrator account. Dysc support cannot reset a Jellyfin password or manage a server that it does not operate.

Before contacting support

Please include:

  • the Dysc version and build number shown in Settings → About Dysc;
  • your iPhone model and iOS version;
  • your Jellyfin server version;
  • whether the server address uses HTTPS or HTTP and whether it is local or remote;
  • a short description of what you expected and what happened;
  • steps that reliably reproduce the problem; and
  • a screenshot or screen recording, after removing personal information and private artwork.

Connection requirements

  • You need access to a compatible Jellyfin server and a valid account on it.
  • Your iPhone must be able to reach that server over the current network.
  • Local servers require Local Network permission for Dysc in iOS Settings.
  • Remote servers should use HTTPS with a valid certificate.
  • HTTP connections are not encrypted and should not be exposed to the public internet.

Sign-in problems

  1. Confirm that the server address opens from the same iPhone and network.
  2. Include the full port and path if your server configuration requires them.
  3. Confirm the username and password by signing in through the server's own web interface.
  4. Check whether a reverse proxy, VPN, firewall, or local-network permission is blocking access.
  5. Ask the server administrator whether your account is enabled and permitted to access music libraries.

Playback and downloads

  • Confirm that the affected file plays in another Jellyfin client.
  • Check available storage and the selected download or streaming quality.
  • Check whether cellular downloading is permitted in Dysc settings.
  • For remote playback, confirm that the server permits the required direct stream or transcode.
  • Downloaded music remains on the device after signing out until you remove the downloads.

Removing local data

  • Sign out: removes the saved Jellyfin credential from the iOS Keychain.
  • Clear cache: removes disposable cached library data and artwork.
  • Remove downloads: deletes downloaded music and associated local artwork.
  • Delete Dysc: removes ordinary app data from the device, subject to normal iOS backup behaviour. Keychain items may survive deletion, so sign out first when possible.

These actions do not delete a Jellyfin account or server-side data. Contact the server administrator to delete an account or data stored by that server.

Privacy requests

Email jellydisc@proton.me with the subject “Dysc privacy request.” Requests concerning information held by a Jellyfin server must be sent to that server's operator. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Security reports

Send suspected security vulnerabilities privately to jellydisc@proton.me with the subject “Dysc security report.” Include the affected version, impact, and reproducible steps, but do not include live credentials or another person's data. Please allow a reasonable opportunity to investigate before public disclosure.

Independent project

Dysc is an independent client compatible with Jellyfin and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the Jellyfin project or Jellyfin, Inc. For support with the Jellyfin server software itself, consult the Jellyfin project's official resources or your server administrator.
